After celebrating a few wedding anniversaries with your better half, you may not remember the taste of your wedding cake or the touch of your first kiss as husband and wife. You may not remember the sounds of your reception music or the smell of your fiancé’s cologne as you embraced after the first look.

But, you will be able to look at your wedding album and remember the beautiful sights from your wedding day.

So, before your big day arrives, focus on the details that you’ll want to remember, so you can relive these moments over and over again.

Here are my top five wedding day details to capture, so the memories can last a lifetime.

Invitation Suite

Your wedding stationary is the first item that your guests see, announcing your engagement and upcoming wedding. They’ll hang them on their refrigerator, counting down the days until you say “I do”. In other words, they are a big deal!

The invitation suite introduces the theme of your wedding, so get shots of what these look like once everything is set up for the ceremony and reception. These shots will tie everything together.

Floral Arrangements

Flowers serve as the “wow factor” for many weddings. Your wedding ceremony and reception will be brought to life with floral arrangements, and your guests will be amazed at the beauty of it all.

Along with the overall look that you’re aiming to accomplish, be sure to give your photographer a few loose blooms for detail shots, along with your rings, invitation suite, and any other accessories you cherish.

Signature Signage

From welcome signs, to signature drink signs, to seating charts, signage really adds pop to your wedding day. Not only do they serve as a guide for your guests, they also add some creativity and a personal touch that deserves to be documented.

Table Settings

Almost every bride has a Pinterest board that is full of ideas for table settings. This is something that your guests will be looking at for a large portion of the evening, so there is a lot of thought that goes into this aspect.

You may not get much of a chance to enjoy the look of the table settings on your wedding day before guests arrive, so make sure your photographer takes pictures beforehand so you can see your vision come to life.

Food & Drinks

Chances are, you spent a lot of money for a caterer, so you’ll want to remember what you paid for. You plotted the perfect menu of food and drinks to satisfy your guests.

Again, you may not be able to enjoy eating or drinking on your wedding day, due to the hustle and bustle of talking with your guests and sticking to your itinerary. However, you’ll be sure to get your money’s worth, and a mouth-watering reminder, looking back on the pictures and remembering how delicious everything tasted.

Think of your future self, flipping through the pages of your wedding album. A day that you spent months (even years) planning for. Along with the wonderful experiences and loving guests that you’ll cherish forever, what little details will you want to remember? Be sure to capture those as well.
