Springtime is one of my favorite seasons for many different reasons. We are finally done with all of the cold winter weather (if you’re from New Jersey, you know what I mean). The flowers begin to bloom and you’re surrounded by gorgeous greenery. Not only that, but Springtime is also prime engagement photo time! You are able to soak up the sun and break out of that Spring fever that we all crave once the last piece of ice melts. For Ezequiel and Bernadette’s engagement session, they wanted to be surrounded by a ton of greenery and enjoy the beautiful spring weather. After a bit of brainstorming we came up with the perfect engagement location and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you today. Keep scrolling to see more of Ezequiel and Bernadette’s Spring engagement at Sayen Gardens.

Spring Engagement at Sayen Gardens

For EZ and Bernadette’s engagement session, we made our way over to Sayen House & Gardens. This beautiful botanical garden is a sanctuary for all nature lovers and garden enthusiasts. Its beautiful ponds, benches, brides, and greenery is absolutely stunning. Sayen Gardens is one of my favorite engagement locations and hopefully you can see why. We spent their entire engagement session running through Sayen Gardens and soaking up every minute of this beautiful moment for Ezequiel and Bernadette.

Ezequiel and Bernadette came dressed in the perfect engagement attire and I couldn’t get over their outfits. Everything from Bernadette’s dress to the button-up and khakis that Ezequiel wore was just perfect. I know that when you’re thinking about what to wear for your engagement session, your mind can draw up a blank. There are so many different options to pick from and this is the part where a lot of people tend to get overwhelmed. The good thing though is that I am not one to leave you hangin’! If you’re looking for tips on what to wear to your engagement session, then just check out this blog I wrote here!

Number One Engagement Photo Tip

Now here is probably where you’re thinking… Myra, how do we even begin to feel this comfortable in front of the camera. Trust me, I get it. Getting in front of the camera, especially if it’s your first time can seem incredibly nerve-wracking. You are the center of attention and may suffer from questions like “what do I do with my hands?”. The number one piece of advice for being comfortable in front of the camera is to communicate with your photographer. Communication is KEY when it comes to making sure you are 100% comfortable with your photographer’s vision. You are also able to express any questions and concerns with your photographer and make sure that they know exactly what you’re looking for in your engagement photos. Before booking a photographer for your engagement photos, ask yourself some of these questions:

  • Does your photographer understand your vision?
  • Is your photographer willing to help bring this vision to life?
  • Do you enjoy their editing style?
  • How hands-on are they in the process?

Your engagement photos don’t need to be anything scary or intimidating. In fact, it should be the exact opposite! You are experiencing one of the most exciting times in your life and it’s a celebration. Don’t let the fear of getting in front of the camera stop you from getting the engagement photos of your dreams. If you’re looking for some more tips on how to prepare for your engagement session, then guess what! I’ve got you on that too!
