Gorgeous Longwood Gardens Engagement
Ria and Alan’s Longwood Gardens engagement session was an absolute dream! This Pennsylvania botanical garden is well-known for its magnificent Christmas displays, but it is also the perfect location for a garden-inspired engagement photoshoot! From the beautiful, bubbling fountains to the lush, tree-lined paths, Longwood Gardens was an idyllic engagement spot for Ria and Alan’s sweet love story!
Ria + Alan’s Love Story
Ria and Alan have the sweetest love story! The two have known each other since high school and have also been friends since then. Years ago, they went their separate ways, but Ria eventually returned to New Jersey after a tragic loss. Ria and Alan reconnected and he was incredibly supportive and there for Ria as a shoulder to cry on whenever she needed him. As time went by, Ria realized she was starting to develop feelings for Alan. They became closer and finally told each other how they felt! Alan had had feelings for Ria since high school, but she never truly noticed. As Ria shared, “Sometimes someone comes into your life, so unexpectedly, takes your heart by surprise, and changes your life forever.” The two ended up dating and falling in love! They are now engaged to be married and have such a wonderful future ahead of them!
How He Asked
Alan proposed to Ria in a beautiful sunflower field surrounded by their loved ones! Ria had wanted to go to the sunflower farm for years, but had never gotten the chance. After rescheduling twice due to rain, Alan promised her they would make the trip, rain or shine. He casually mentioned her family and best friend would be joining them. Ria didn’t think much of it since they often spent weekends with their families.
On the day of the trip, Ria was so excited to finally see the gorgeous sunflowers! The group made their way to a platform overlooking the entire sunflower field and Alan asked Ria to snap a photo with him. Ria turned around to pose for the picture and saw Alan down on one knee with a smile on his face and a black box in his hand! As Ria recalled, “I didn’t know what to do or say, but I remember asking him if he was being serious! When he opened the ring box I cried in excitement and shock! As I said yes to his proposal, I looked around the sunflower field and saw my loved ones surrounding us among the beautiful flowers. I was on cloud nine!”
Fountain Engagement Photos at Longwood Gardens
Longwood Gardens was such a gorgeous garden engagement photo location for Ria and Alan. On the drive there, it was pouring rain and I was so nervous that the weather wouldn’t clear up! Luckily, when we arrived, the sun had peeked through the clouds and everything was perfect! This incredible venue is inspired by grand European gardens and is full of so many picturesque spots. It is one of my absolute favorite Philadelphia engagement photo locations! Longwood Gardens is ideal for couples looking for a European-inspired engagement session!
Gorgeous Longwood Gardens Engagement Photos
Botanical gardens make for such a beautiful backdrop for engagement photos, and Longwood Gardens was no different! Between the grand fountains and the overflowing flowers, Ria and Alan had so many lovely spots to explore as they walked hand-in-hand along the paths. I loved that Ria and Alan included an outfit change in their engagement session! Ria’s first engagement dress was ethereal and flowy and her second was bold and romantic. I always recommend including an outfit change in your engagement session since it helps create a greater variety of beautiful photos!
One of my favorite parts of Ria and Alan’s Longwood Gardens engagement session was seeing the love and fun between them! Whether they were sharing a sweet kiss or goofing off together, I could feel Ria and Alan’s joy bursting in every moment! I giggled when Alan scooped Ria up over his shoulder and made off with his beautiful bride-to-be. These two are so comfortable with each other and share both sweet and silly moments.
