There are so many challenges when it comes to running your own business. When you and you alone have to make difficult decisions around pricing, defining your brand, how to find and market to your target client, there are so many ways things can go wrong and it can be a scary place. When you put so much on the line, you have to learn to celebrate every single win, no matter how small.

Last week, I was lucky enough to be featured on The Knot’s Instagram. And while it may be only one photo, it received nearly 9,000 likes and 114 comments. There is no comparison to that kind of exposure. It means so much to a photographer like myself. These are the kinds of things that make the struggle of owning a business worth while. An acknowledgement from such a well known name in my industry is a huge reward for the hard work and challenges I put in.

    I was also fortunate enough to attend a photographer’s workshop held by Katie Nesbitt. Her workshops are designed to help other photographers take their business to the next level. As a business owner, you must invest in yourself and in learning opportunities that will help you grow.
