My Fourth of July holiday weekend was filled with spending time with those that I love most, as well as doing what I love most! I was blessed to be able to photograph Liz and Miguel as they tied the knot at the Embassy Suites in Berkeley Heights, NJ. Their wedding day was absolutely perfect, and everything about the day was just as beautiful as these two. This time of year will always be one to remember for this amazing couple, in more ways than one!
A Special Summer Proposal
On July 3, 2017, Miguel took Liz to Madison Square Park, a sentimental location of theirs, where he asked Liz to be his wife. Having picked the perfect location, Miguel hired a photographer who would hide in order to capture this important moment. Trying his best to inconspicuously find the hidden photographer, Miguel walked Liz around for a bit before sitting her down on a bench. Although Liz was beginning to catch on due to Miguel’s nervousness, as soon as he got down on one knee, tears began to flow!
Tale as Old as Time
These two sweethearts met while both on the swim team. Starting out as friends, Liz and Miguel eventually formed an inseparable connection. Their relationship grew and flourished over the years. When it came to planning their wedding, the timeless and romantic theme perfectly matched their love for one another.
Planning for the Perfect Day
Both Liz and Miguel were on the look-out for a location and venue that could accentuate their own style, so they were intrigued when they discovered the Embassy Suites in Berkeley Heights. They were drawn to this venue mainly because it was brand new. They also appreciated the fact that the Embassy Suites had a location for an outdoor ceremony, along with an indoor reception area, complete with access to hotel rooms for their guests. This “one-stop shop” became the place for this couple’s big day!
Wedding Day Bliss
On the day of the wedding, the bride and groom eagerly got ready with their respective parties. Taking the time to relax before the evenings’ events, Liz and Miguel were both glowing with happiness. Liz looked gorgeous in her wedding gown and elegant accessories, and Miguel looked so handsome in his strapping tuxedo and bow-tie.
When it came time for the couple’s first look, Miguel waited patiently to see his soon-to-be wife. He seemed very calm and collected until the moment that he turned to see Liz. He couldn’t contain his smile as he saw his gorgeous bride standing before him. Liz was also excited as the two embraced, and even asked for Miguel’s permission to kiss him, as she was impatient to wait any longer!
Miguel and Liz spent time together posing for pictures shortly before the ceremony began. I loved capturing the look of pure joy on both of their faces before they became husband and wife. One might think that this was my favorite part of the day, but honestly, I can’t even pick a favorite moment. Everything about Liz and Miguel’s wedding day was so thoughtfully planned and each hour was filled with excitement. In fact, just after we finished taking photos, it began to pour! However, come rain or shine, nothing could stop these two from enjoying their perfect day!
Tying the Knot
Although the ceremony was moved indoors due to the rain, everything was just as beautiful as if it was planned this way. When the time finally arrived for the ceremony to begin, Liz and Miguel were surrounded by their friends and family. Professing their love in front of the crowd commenced the perfect evening for the bride and groom. As they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, the crowd stood to their feet, cheering with excitement.
New York-Inspired Evening
The excitement continued into the reception, where Liz and Miguel showcased their appreciation for the great state that they grew up in: New York. The dining tables were named after many places in New York, such as Central Park, Broadway, and Union Square. I loved the cleverness of this idea! Their color theme was a combination of light purple, gray, and white. The reception room had open glass walls with beautiful views of greenery that surrounded the area. These types of venues make this photographer’s heart skip a beat! It was absolutely breathtaking!
Sinatra Send-off
The night was full of fun, laughter, and love, as the newlyweds dined and danced with their loved ones. As the evening came to a close, Liz and Miguel planned one last special touch, with their send-off song being New York by Frank Sinatra. Like I said, every last detail was perfectly planned by these two! The guests gathered around Liz and Miguel, who were both crying tears of joy over their beautiful day. What a special way to end the night!
Liz and Miguel, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be part of your wedding day! I wish you a lifetime of happiness! Enjoy these special memories!
