Movie-worthy Wedding in Corona, New York

Have you ever felt like you were secretly being filmed for a movie? A feeling that the scene you’re in was destined to be put on the big screen, and you’re just sure that the camera crew is going to pop out of the bushes at any moment? That’s how I have felt every time I photograph Sasha & Dennis. These two have a relationship that puts even the best romance movies (like Sasha’s favorite movie, The Notebook) to shame. The love that they share is magical, and I was so happy to have the opportunity to capture their love as they started their lives as husband and wife. 

A Beautiful Love Story

‘Romantic’ is the perfect word to describe this couple, and Dennis set the bar pretty high when he proposed to Sasha on the beach at Playa Del Carmen. During their first trip abroad in April of 2017 to celebrate their sixth anniversary as a couple, Dennis planned a romantic evening, including private beachside dining with white linen table & chairs, surrounded by a candlelit heart shaped in the sand. He got down on one knee as Sasha was reading his hand-written letter and proposed. After a few tears and sweet kisses were exchanged, Sasha said yes! 

Classy Wedding at Terrace On The Park 

As Sasha & Dennis began making plans for their big day, they chose Terrace On The Park as their location. Their vision was a day filled with love, fun, and memories with a timeless and romantic feel. What better place than Terrace On The Park, where the beautiful views of the New York skyline provide a backdrop of breathtaking elegance and sophistication! Their style was classy and vintage inspired, with lots of white and blush decor to set the tone. This couple was so excited to share their wedding day with family and friends, and wanted them to feel the love, but to also have some fun. Let me be the first to say that they did not disappoint! Their celebration of love was unforgettable.

Scenes from the Big Day

You could feel the excitement in the air as Sasha & Dennis began getting ready for the day. Their smiles were contagious, and it was clear that they were ready to make a commitment to each other for the rest of their lives. Sasha’s Pnina Tornai wedding dress was absolutely stunning. She truly looked like a princess in her gown. A headpiece and veil in her curly, brunette hair were the perfect touch to complete the bride’s elegant look. Her bridesmaids wore blush colored gowns and it was apparent that they were all over-the-moon for Sasha as she was about to marry her Prince Charming. Bouquets of blush and white colored roses were the perfect way to tie everything together.

An Emotional First Look

First looks are typically my favorite part of every wedding. The intimate moment that a couple shares together as bride and groom takes my breath away. The moment that Dennis saw his beautiful bride standing before him, tears began to fall. He reached for Sasha and gave a soft kiss on her hand, taking in her beauty. It was such an emotional moment that no words could begin to describe. Adding to the romantic nature of the first look, the couple exchanged vows with one another. It was so special to see a custom that is usually shared during the ceremony done in private instead. The vow exchange marked my favorite part of the day.

Portraits at Corona Park

It’s always questionable what the weather will be like for a summer wedding, but this particular Friday was warm and sunny, providing Sasha and Dennis with the opportunity to enjoy an outdoor portrait experience. The couple chose to have their wedding portraits taken in Corona Park, not far from the wedding venue. Sasha wanted to have greenery in the background, and Corona Park was the perfect location. As Sasha & Dennis shared special moments laughing and gazing into each other’s eyes, I captured their love through my lens. The couple was able to enjoy special time together before the nuptials began.

Becoming Husband & Wife

The ceremony was held at Terrace On The Park, overlooking a beautiful panoramic view of the city skyline. The room was filled with elegant and simple decor, which perfectly matched the couple’s style. As Sasha walked down the aisle, Dennis kept his tear-filled eyes on her as if she was the only one in the room. Family and friends happily watched as Dennis and Sasha exchanged rings, became husband and wife, and shared a special kiss to seal their bond. They were so happy to be sharing these moments with those they loved and making memories that will last a lifetime.

Terrace At The Park Wedding Reception

After the romantic ceremony, Sasha and Dennis quickly escaped the festivities to share a few moments alone as newlyweds before returning to their friends and family to continue their celebration of love. The meal was incredible, with an assortment of options, along with seafood and beef. Sasha and Dennis chose Heaven by Kane Brown as their first dance song. Hearing the lyrics, “You and me in this moment, feels like magic, don’t it?” and watching as they swayed back and forth to the song, you could tell they were in their own little world at that very moment. The guests joined the happy couple on the dance floor and a good time was had by all. I truly love moments like this, as two families join together as one. 

Happily Ever After 

Towards the end of the evening, Sasha and Dennis took a few minutes alone to take some photographs on the stairs near the lobby. Although they may have been exhausted from the long day, neither one of them showed it. They simply could not contain their joy.The night ended just as any fairytale movie would, with a newly wedded couple ready to embark on their happily ever after.
