Joyful Liberty House Wedding in Jersey City
Janelle and Allan are married! I am so happy to be sharing a glimpse at their beautiful Liberty House wedding day. This sweet couple spent an incredible day surrounded by friends and family as they shared their faith and love.
How He Proposed
I absolutely love the story of Allan’s proposal! He put so much thought into this special moment! As Janelle recalls, “It was an ordinary summer Sunday and Allan and I had gone to church in the morning and spent the rest of the day together. We grabbed dinner at one of our favorite spots in downtown Jersey City. Allan asked if I wanted to get popsicles (palletas) after dinner, and of course I said yes! I am always down for frozen treats in the summer! Allan guided me to the Exchange Place which has a gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline. The sun was setting as we arrived, and we came upon four fully bloomed lilies. Each lily represented a year of us dating and had a note with “Year 1”, “Year 2”, “Year 3”, and “Year 4”. There was a fifth lily left that had yet to bloom, representing our future together and the years to come. Next to this lily blossom was our cherished shared journal. We had been using this journal throughout our relationship, using it to write letters to each other. It’s sometimes easier for me to communicate by writing, so Allan sweetly gifted me this journal for us to share. I opened the journal to see he had written “Will you marry me?” and I was so thrilled to say yes!”
Chic Jersey City Wedding
Janelle and Allan chose the Liberty House in Jersey City as their wedding venue because they absolutely love the city skyline. Their theme was simple and elegant and filled with blush, navy, blue, and champagne accents. Janelle and Allan really made their wedding all about love: they wanted to share and celebrate with their loved ones who have been a part of their lives and have supported and loved them throughout their relationship! They did an amazing job at bringing everyone together in a celebration of love!
Getting Ready at the Hyatt in Jersey City
Excitement was buzzing in both Janelle and Allan’s respective hotel suites as they each got ready on their wedding day! Every little detail was so heartfelt and reflective of Janelle and Allan’s beautiful love story. Janelle looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown! The sheer overlay floated around her like a dream as her vine-inspired comb and earrings glittered. I loved the blush mismatched bridesmaids gowns – Janelle’s bridesmaids were all so lovely and excited for Janelle’s special day! Light blue hydrangea bouquets were the perfect accent to Janelle’s blush rose bridal bouquet.
First Look Full of Love
Janelle and Allan’s first look at their Liberty House wedding was my favorite moment of the day. Allan patiently waited for his bride to arrive as he took in the breathtaking city skyline. Janelle was full of excitement as she approached her future husband. When she was a few steps away, Janelle called Allan’s name, and he turned to see her. Tears of joy instantly filled their eyes as they rushed towards each other to embrace. Allan could not take his eyes off of Janelle and his adoration made her glow. I thought it was so sweet that Allan wanted to wait until he and Janelle were pronounced husband and wife to share their first wedding day kiss. The two shared sweet cheek kisses and held hands as Janelle twirled, showing off her beautiful gown. After portraits with their bridal party and families, Allan and Janelle parted ways once more before their wedding ceremony.
Liberty House Wedding Ceremony
Janelle walked down the aisle to a beautiful string version of Beyonce’s “Halo” as Allan’s eyes glistened with tears at the sight of his beautiful bride. Janelle and Allan’s Liberty House wedding ceremony was full of emotion as the two joined hands, thrilled to become husband and wife. My favorite moment was their veil and cord ceremony. Janelle and Allan’s family and friends prayed over them and their marriage as an acoustic trio’s rendition of “Ever Be” rang through the room. Their personal vows were so heartfelt and brought tears to my eyes as they shared their love and faith. Once Allan and Janelle were pronounced husband and wife, they shared their first kiss as newlyweds, marking the sweet beginning of their marriage.
NYC Skyline Wedding Day Portraits
Following their beautiful Liberty House wedding ceremony, Janelle and Allan stole away to share some moments alone together and bask in their newlywed glow. They strolled along the park path, filled with joy and love. They posed for some lovely wedding day photos before rejoining their friends and family at their cocktail hour!
Liberty House Wedding Reception
After a fun cocktail hour, Janelle and Allan’s loved ones gathered in the gorgeous Liberty House wedding reception space to celebrate the newlyweds! Each table was adorned with a frame featuring a reason why Allan and Janelle love each other – such a heartwarming, personal touch! Following Janelle and Allan’s exciting entrance, the DJ got everyone to join them on the dance floor! It was so wonderful seeing everyone come together! Guests ended the night on a sweet note with delicious Baonanas banana pudding is custom keepsake jars!
Backlit Wedding Night Portraits
Janelle and Allan took a few minutes alone during their wedding reception. They stepped out onto the Liberty House terrace, taking in the cool night air and sparkling city lights. I was so happy to capture lovely backlit wedding night portraits of this sweet couple. The bright lights were perfectly symbolic of their love shining through even the darkest of nights.
